Butler House Manager needed in Woodside
We are looking for a hands on House Manager who can act as a butler for a family in Woodside. Daily responsibilities will be cooking simple healthy meals or picking up to go meals from local favorite restaurants. We want to find someone who can make teas and coffees for the Principals and guests or who can do a simple floral arrangement. You will be responsible for daily walk throughs of the home, and working with the housekeeper on keeping the home looking beautiful – you will be required to do light cleaning as needed. You will be responsible for keeping track of all household inventory and making sure the home stocked with necessary items including grocery shopping. Other typical tasks will include managing household mail, doing light bill paying and doing package returns as needed. We are looking for someone who can work with vendors and contractors like the gardener and pool person – you will be the point person for everything unless the Principals need to approve something. If the family is entertaining and having a small cocktail party or dinner party, you will be responsible for working with the Mrs on all details including floral arrangements and sourcing a local caterer or working with the family chef on an approved menu. When the client travels, you will be responsible for packing the Mrs and Mr as well as traveling ahead to ensure that the hotel or rental property is set up and stocked as needed. This is a big job, and we are looking for a true “Jack or Jill of All Trades.” Service is incredibly important to this client, so someone who has worked in hotels would be a bonus. We are looking for a team player as this is a fully staffed home. This is a new role and the family is looking for someone who can help create a Household Manual. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years recent full time experience working as a Butler and has also done some staff/Household Management. Schedule is in person, M-F, from 9-6p with flexibility to stay later or work on a weekend if there is a special event. Local Bay Area candidates only please. Salary DOE, $200,000+ medical benefits.
