Full Charge Nanny needed for High Profile family on the UES
High Profile Upper East Side is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their two children, ages 10 and 14. The ideal candidate will bring both structure and flexibility to the role, supporting a busy household with shifting schedules and occasional travel. The schedule is generally every Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesdays off. The candidate will also work either Thursday or Friday, and one weekend day of their choice each week, typically alternating to include two weekend days per month. Daily hours are approximately 12 pm to 8 pm. The first few hours of the day are focused on family assistant duties, while the afternoon and evening are dedicated to childcare and supporting the children's routines. This role involves caring for the children during after-school hours, providing gentle guidance with homework (tutors handle all academic support), accompanying them to activities, and reinforcing habits that promote independence and responsibility. The home environment values both consistency and adaptability, and the successful candidate will be someone who can pivot when needed while keeping the children’s routines intact. The position may include occasional overnight stays in the city and short trips during school breaks, usually one to two weeks of travel in the summer and again in the winter. This is a fully staffed home, so being a respectful and collaborative team player is essential. The family is seeking a warm, confident, and emotionally attuned caregiver with prior experience supporting older children or teens. A background in behavioral development or special education would be a plus, as the children thrive with clear expectations, healthy boundaries, and respectful communication. The home is largely tech-free, and screen time is very limited, with emphasis placed on real-world engagement, responsibility, creativity and kindness.
