Full Time Private Chef needed in NYC (West Village) $150-$160,00 DOE
We are looking for a flexible private chef to work for a wonderful family based in NYC. The family has another chef, so you will work half the year. You should be flexible to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time. Summers are spent in the Hamptons. The schedule is ROTATIONAL, you share the job with another chef who has been with the family for over 3 years. The schedule is 5 days on, 5 days off when they are in the city, and 9 days on 9 days off when they are traveling. When the family is in NYC (during the school year), you will be responsible for cooking lunches and dinners for everyone (typically Mr, Mrs, toddler, nanny, and potentially a Personal Assistant and guests/family.) Sometimes the child and nanny eat earlier than the adults. If there is a special event, they will ask you to work along with the other chef on a special occasion. When they are traveling in the Hamptons, you will be cooking 3 meals a day and the family like to entertain so it may be up to 10 guests at a time. We want to find someone who is creative and nutritious, and who has BOTH fine dining experience and who also has worked in private homes. We want to find an experienced private chef who understands the dynamics of working in busy households and that an extra guest may be invited to dinner at the last minute. We are looking for a Private Chef with long term recent references working for UHNW clients in Manhattan. The family eats everything and has no major dietary restrictions - this is a dream job for someone who likes to be creative and make delicious meals! We want someone who can put together menus for approval at least a few days in advance. The family enjoys a wide variety of cuisine's but tends to lean toward Asian-inspired meals, with dumplings being a particular family favorite.
