House Manager/Personal Assistant needed for UHNW client SF & LA
We are seeking an experienced, career Household Manager/Personal Assistant to support an ultra-high-net-worth principal based on the Peninsula (Atherton), with a second residence in Los Angeles. This individual will serve as the principal’s primary point of contact for all day-to-day personal and household matters, proactively managing priorities and delegating responsibilities to household staff. The role includes overseeing and managing housekeepers at both properties to ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and a consistently seamless living experience. Responsibilities include managing all family and personal appointments; coordinating and planning travel from booking through execution; handling expenses and maintaining regular communication with the accountant; and ensuring the timely renewal of important documents such as passports and driver’s licenses. The role also plans and executes holiday gifting, maintains memberships, and manages comprehensive spreadsheets covering household maintenance schedules, inventories, birthdays, and other key dates. Additional duties include handling local errands such as returns and ordering items for the family’s needs, organizing household shopping including pantry and refrigerator restocking, and maintaining detailed shopping lists for both residences. Seasonal maintenance is actively managed, including tasks such as rotating mattresses, scheduling power washing, and conducting pre-arrival visits to ensure each property is in excellent condition and fully prepared for occupancy. The position further ensures all vehicles are consistently maintained, fueled, serviced, and cleaned, while coordinating and tracking all related schedules. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five to seven years of full-time experience as a Personal Assistant and/or Household Manager, with long-term references. Candidates must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles and available for in-person responsibilities as needed. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with some Saturdays per month and flexibility for a hybrid schedule around special events. The average workweek is expected to total approximately 40 hours, with occasional fluctuations based on family needs. Compensation ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 DOE, plus a medical stipend, two weeks of paid vacation, sick days, and five paid holidays.
