IT Specialist needed for Family Office in Palo Alto $175,000 DOE

A private family office in Palo Alto, California is looking for a talented and hands-on professional to keep their homes running beautifully. This person will oversee all things technical, from the quiet hum of the HVAC to the sparkle of new renovations, ensuring every property is always guest-ready and in perfect condition. You will take the lead on keeping all systems, including electrical, mechanical, and safety, operating smoothly. Regular walk-throughs, smart maintenance planning, and a sharp eye for detail will help make sure everything works just as it should. In this role, you will also manage exciting projects such as system upgrades and renovations, guiding them from concept to completion. You will build strong partnerships with trusted vendors, contractors, and consultants, keeping things on time, on budget, and always up to the Principals’ high standards. You will be responsible for ensuring every home meets local safety and environmental regulations, with all compliance paperwork and records carefully kept up to date. You will also develop thoughtful risk management plans so every residence is as safe as it is beautiful. You will keep a close handle on budgets and expenditures, forecast future needs, and share regular updates on system performance and projects. Collaboration will be key, working closely with estate teams, hospitality staff, and security to make sure operations are seamless. You will also lend your knowledge to help train and support household staff on technical best practices. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, along with at least 7-10 years of experience managing luxury homes, estates, or high-end hospitality properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems, excellent project management skills, and the ability to oversee operations across multiple international locations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, culturally aware, and skilled at building trusted relationships with everyone from vendors to Principals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate discretion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Frequent international travel, up to 50% of the time, is part of the adventure, so a valid passport and flexibility are a must. Salary is DOE, $175,000 plus a generous compensation package.
