Private Educator needed for Gifted 8 year old in Atherton
A family in Atherton is seeking an exceptional Private Educator to support the homeschooling journey of their gifted 8-year-old child. This bright and curious student will be homeschooled for the next one to two years, and the family is looking for a thoughtful, engaged educator to help guide both academic and personal growth. The role involves overseeing and supporting a customized homeschool curriculum while maintaining an advanced academic schedule. The educator will drive the student to tutors, classes, and enrichment activities, plan developmentally stimulating games and projects, and serve as a positive role model who fosters curiosity, independence, and creativity. The position also includes collaborating with parents and tutors to ensure consistency and progress across all subjects. Candidates must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the education field and hold a four-year degree from an accredited university. An advanced degree or credential in education, child development, or a related field is preferred. Graduates of Stanford University or UC Berkeley, as well as those with experience teaching in top Bay Area private schools such as Nueva, Sacred Heart or Menlo School, are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a clean driving record, be local to the San Francisco Bay Area, and hold a valid driver’s license. Strong communication skills, patience, and creativity are essential, along with experience working with gifted or advanced learners. The schedule is flexible and may be structured as a full-time or part-time role, between four and eight hours per day. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of $75/hr + DOE along with medical benefits and paid time off.
